PWP Nation’s Wilfred of The Card Podcast provides 5 top british wrestling independent talents to keep tabs on in 2019.

5. Chris Ridgeway
@chrisXriddy

Chris, 25, is cut like Finn Balor and tattooed like WWE coach Matt Bloom. Looking past the ungodly sight of his tribal chest tattoo, this guy can kick you into the next week. He’s currently a freelancer in the UK wrestling for companies such as Progress, Riptide, IPW, Rev Pro and several others. His tagline is not a joke either. He’s got a black belt in being “hard as f*ck” and he proves that every single time he competes.

In a very short time, he’s set his sights on Progress Wrestling Heavyweight Champion WALTER. He’s racked up some serious victories and looks to dethrone the giant Austrian at Chapter 84 this month.

He’s the type of guy you may see working at a local electronics store but when you see him take his top off; you know he’s a fighter. He’s the type of guy who would be a regular at fight club. Look out for his name to gain more traction in 2019.

4. Candyfloss
@CFlossWrestler

Candyfloss is the personification of a sugary sweets store. She’s pink, bubbly and bright. Her training comes from the Progress wrestling dojo.

At only 19, she’s already been presented on NXT UK programming. Her very fast rise to this stage has come through a vibrant scene in British Wrestling. She’s wrestled for Riptide, EVE, Attack and even toured Japan with Stardom.

Her bright and colorful jubilance is one side of her. Another side would be her vicious wrestling style in ring. She’s technically skilled and has become a very well-rounded wrestler at such a ripe age.

There is really no ceiling to her potential. Her experience on NXT UK will be eye opening and a rich wealth of knowledge that few receive at such a young age of 19.

3. Spike Trivet
@SpikeTrivet1

Spike came into the wrestling scene like a cannonball. This man is solid gold a microphone. He’s done what he has needed to make the card and he’s taken full advantage.

Whether it be deathmatches with Jimmy Havoc or creating the hottest feud in Resurgence with Cara Noir; he’s grabbed every opportunity that comes to him.

In a chat I had with him recently on Wilfred Watches Podcast, he explained his training in theater and how things will come to him instinctively during a match which aides to his amazing control of a crowd. He’s been in the business for only 3 years but his stock is spiking upward.

2. Kyle Fletcher
@kylefletcherpro ‏

Alright, this guy’s technically from Australia but has been making his trade in England since moving over at a very young age.

At only 20, he has been part of one of the hottest tag teams in the UK scene in Aussie Open. Kyle Fletcher is a regeneration of Will Ospreay, but better. In 2018, he wrestled over 150 times and has bulked up to “heavyweight” status. He’s having top matches with those in WXW, Rev Pro, Progress, Defiant and even PWG.

This kid is slim, strong and can go with ANYONE. He’s truly something special and the crowds that see him know it. If he doesn’t get signed by WWE or NJPW in 2020; someone is missing out on a major player.

1. Millie Mckenzie
@MillieMcKenzie0

Prodigy is a word that is rarely used in the world of professional wrestling. Millie McKenzie is a prodigy. She’s 18 and wrestles like she is 35 at the peak of her career.

This probably sounds like an overreaching statement but when you watch her wrestle; she absolutely carries the situation in front of her with ease and professionalism.

It could very well be said that Pete Dunne could be in a list like this but he’s kind of ahead of his progression faster than most expected. Pete helped in training Millie and it shows when she goes to suplex city on her opponents. Her face shows such focused rage and eagerness when in the middle of the ring.

At 18 years old, she’s been in this business for 3 years now and wrestled for Fight Club Pro, Progress, Attack, EVE and is currently the Sendai Girls junior champion. Her time is coming, and we will all be welcome for it.
