PWP Nation’s Caden Moran details five things we learned from the Royal Rumble 2019 event last night

The Road to Wrestlemania has officially begun. The annual Royal Rumble event was live last night in Phoenix, Arizona and it was an incredible show from start to finish. WWE pulled off a rare miracle and nailed every call on the head and it is going to be a very interesting couple of months leading up to the biggest even in sports entertainment. We learned quite a few things last night so let’s discuss exactly what we learned.

#5 – Someone Really Loves Mustafa Ali

Mustafa Ali had an incredible showing during the men’s Royal Rumble match. After entering at number 13, Ali went on to eliminate Shinsuke Nakamura, the winner of last years Royal Rumble match and the new United States Champion, and also went on to eliminate Samoa Joe. Mustafa Ali has had a quite a run on Smackdown Live so far and it is obvious that someone backstage really, really loves the guy.

As a big fan of Mustafa Ali myself, I can not really blame the higher ups for having a love for him. Mustafa Ali is set to have a huge 2019 and whatever his role at Wrestlemania this year shall be, I have no doubt that he will continue to light it up on Tuesday nights.

#4 – Seth Rollins is the Best in the World

Not to my surprise, Seth Rollins was the winner of this years Royal Rumble match, and deservedly so. We learned more than just the fact that “The Kingslayer” will headline Wrestlemania for the title of his choosing, we also learned that Seth Rollins is THE best in the world.

We can sit here and argue about whether Rollins, AJ Styles, or Kenny Omega is the best in the world. However, after last nights showing, and his showings ever since last years Wrestlemania, Seth Rollins is, without a doubt, the best wrestler in the entire world.

Seth Rollins is in his prime and he is not slowing down anytime soon. Whether or not he goes on to dethrone Brock Lesnar or Daniel Bryan, Seth has proved his worth to not just WWE, but to the world.

#3 – Daniel Bryan is WWE’s Best Heel

Daniel Bryan‘s run as a heel has been some of the best work, if not the best, in his entire career. His angry, irritated, and annoyed at the older generation and anti-consumerism character has been some of the most entertaining moments to watch. With another win against AJ Styles now under his belt, and with some backup in Erick Rowan, Daniel Bryan is easily WWE’s top and best heel.

I don’t really know what is in store for Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania, but with his new attitude and partnerships, his work as a heel is sure to continue to get better.

Bryan is the best heel in WWE (excluding NXT) and there is no one else that comes close.

#2 – Becky Lynch is Truly “The Man”

Becky Lynch had one hell of a night. After tapping out (surprisingly) to Asuka in her re-match for the Smackdown Women’s Championship, Lynch found her way in the women’s Royal Rumble match, and won.

Becky Lynch was the only right choice to win the Royal Rumble match and her hot streak is destined to continue all the way to Wrestlemania. Last night, Becky proved that is truly “The Man” in WWE after overcoming a loss to Asuka, and a knee injury during the Rumble match. Once she eliminated Charlotte Flair to come away with the biggest win of her career, the entirety of Chase Field joined together and rallied behind Lynch.

Not only did Becky Lynch prove that she really is “The Man”, she also made herself look like the most lovable babyface in recent memory. It is going to be a fun couple of months for Becky Lynch and I cannot wait for her take down of Ronda Rousey.

#1 – Finn Balor Can be the Top Guy

Finn Balor had something to prove last night, and he did just that. With the odds stacked against him, Finn Balor put on one hell of a performance against the WWE Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar. Even though he lost to Brock, Finn showed us all something. Finn Balor can be the top guy in WWE.

After Finn Balor hit Lesnar with the Coup De Grace, Phoenix, Arizona was getting ready to erupt if the ref counted to three. Not only did Finn Balor have the entire WWE Universe behind him, but he proved that he could hang with “The Beast Incarnate”. Balor got in about 70% of the offense in the match before Brock took over.

Finn Balor finally proved himself worthy of being on top of the WWE, and I guarantee that Vince McMahon was watching very closely. Hopefully, the boss finally believes in Finn Balor. I know I do.

Royal Rumble 2019 was a strong show, even though it was way too long, and this Wrestlemania season is bound to be fun to watch. I hope you are all looking forward to it.
