Forbidden Door: The Biggest Pro Wrestling Show of 2022
What a time to be alive in the world of professional wrestling! This upcoming Sunday will feature historical moments for all professional wrestling fans as we witness All Elite Wrestling (AEW) taking on New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) in their very first crossover show “Forbidden Door”.
AEW and NJPW started working together publicly in February 2021, the working relationship shocked the professional wrestling community as fans got to witness KENTA of NJPW’s Bullet Club faction interfere in a tag team match involving at the time IWGP United States Champion Jon Moxley.
Upon KENTA’s arrival, heading into the spring, AEW also featured Yuji Nagata against Jon Moxley for the IWGP United States Championship on an episode of AEW Dynamite on May 12, in Daily’s Place. Ever since that tremendous match we have the privilege to watch NJPW bring not only their “Young Lion” wrestlers, but their star athletes such as Minoru Suzuki, Rocky Romero, Wheeler Yuta, and current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, Jay White to America to face off against the wrestlers of AEW.
AEW and NJPW will put on “The Biggest Pro Wrestling Show of 2022” with Forbidden Door, which will allow fans the opportunity of witnessing diversity in the professional wrestling world.
The fans will have a chance to see different styles such as strong style, brawling, comedy, technical, shoot and catch, and many more stunning traits that will be feature on the program.
High quality dream matches such as Bryan Danielson’s Mystery Wrestler versus Zack Sabre Jr., A 4-Way match for the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Championship, and both promotion’s world titles will be on the line.
Working partnerships in wrestling go way back to the late 80s when American Wrestling Association (AWA), National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), and World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) created the Super Clash event in September of 1985, just a few months after the inaugural WWF WrestleMania.
What makes “Forbidden Door” special is NJPW; within the past 3 decades, NJPW has a tremendous background of working with other American professional wrestling companies. NJPW has worked with companies such as World Championship Wrestling (WCW), Ring of Honor (ROH), Total Nonstop Action (TNA/Impact Wrestling), World Wrestling Federation (WWF/WWE), and much more.
With New Japan’s experience in working with other promotions, this crossover event will help elevate AEW into the forefront of American professional wrestling due to AEW only being an active professional wrestling company for only 3 years. With momentum and new talent with AEW, as well as the Veteran skills of NJPW, the fans will witness “The Biggest Pro Wrestling Show of 2022”.
“AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door” will be live on Pay Per View, Sunday June 26th, this is a show that fans will be discussing and at the end of the night, the true winner will be the fans who love not only the business, the wrestlers, merchandise, but the sport of professional wrestling.
