Earlier this year, we reported that Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy‘s TNA Wrestling contracts were set to expire at the end of February, which is nearing a close. Many believe that their contracts have already expired or are on the verge of being up.

Late in 2016, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that both Hardys (more-so Jeff) were very interested in returning to WWE for one final run and as their deals look to be up with TNA, it becomes less and less likely that the Hardys will be sticking around in Impact Wrestling.

Additionally, it’s being said that WWE is interested in seeing both Hardys back in the company, but there is no word on what type of deal will be offered to Matt and Jeff. Both men have expressed that they love their schedules at the moment working a limited amount with Impact Wrestling and other independent dates, which is significantly shorter than WWE’s main roster travel schedule.

It should also be noted that Matt and his wife, Reby Sky, are expecting another child, which would obviously impact Matt’s decision to take on a longer schedule with WWE.

Finally, it should also be noted with TNA under new ownership and creative leadership, the company is looking to cut expenses big time to help combat the debt that Anthem Entertainment acquired when buying out Billy Corgan.

Information is very limited at this time, but as this story develops, we will certainly keep you posted.

  1. I really hope they come back. Start them at a team for a while and then split them off to go solo. Broken Matt as a midcarder could really work.
