As many fans are already aware, Paul Heyman recently appeared on the Stone Cold Podcast on the WWE Network and brought up the idea of having “Stone Cold” Steve Austin come out of retirement to face “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar at next year’s WrestleMania.
WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon did not like this at all, as McMahon had no plans whatsoever to have an Austin vs. Lesnar match at WrestleMania 32. McMahon had a talk with Austin after the podcast and Austin would go on to put the rumors to rest. McMahon does not want there to be any hype for a match that won’t happen at WrestleMania.
However, there is some chatter that one person backstage who would like to see this match happen is WWE COO Triple H. But as for right now, McMahon is adamant that this match will not happen.
McMahon is hoping to have Brock Lesnar face his old rival Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson atWrestleMania 32. As fans may recall, Lesnar defeated The Rock at SummerSlam back in 2002 for what was then the Undisputed WWE Championship and became the youngest WWE World Champion in history at the time. The two never did have a rematch.
