Was There More To Justin Roberts’ Release?
The WWE locker room was reportedly in shock last night upon the news that ring announcer Justin Roberts was released from his contract.
Roberts had a lot of support backstage and was said to be a company man. Many thought that news of his release was a mistake, although the official WWE website announced it.
Justin Roberts was reportedly seen yelling at Michael Cole during the Dolph Ziggler vs. Randy Orton match on last night’s Raw in Atlanta.
A fan also noted that Roberts flipped Cole off.
Immediately following Raw, Roberts was told by his superior Kevin Dunn that the company decided not to renew his contract. The incident with Cole doesn’t necessarily point toward the reason Roberts was fired.
There is speculation that Lilian Garcia will return to announcing Raw while Eden will do ring announcing for SmackDown.
