During SummerSlam weekend, rumors were floating around about the impending return of The Undertaker to WWE. A number of media outlets reported that ‘The Demon from Death Valley‘ could have been in town for various reasons, but never ruled out an appearance at the show.
According to PWInsider, Undertaker was working out in the ring prior to the event. This does not mean that we will definitively see Undertaker back in the ring, but it could have been an evalutuation or a physical test to see how his hip holds up after surgery this past spring.
Furthermore, this past week on RAW, John Cena threw some shade at Undertaker during his promo battle with Roman Reigns. Roman stated that he has done something Cena was not able to do & thats “retire The Undertaker.” Cena responded with:
“I’m not The Undertaker. I’m not a battered veteran at the end of his career with a bad hip.”
Interestingly enough, the report goes on to state that there is a “GONG!” sound at the end of the WWE No Mercy vignettes. Speculation is also running wild (brother!) that The Undertaker may be returning to the ring for a WrestleMania or Survivor Series clash with Cena.
