By now we all know the news that Becky Lynch is pregnant and going to be a mother.
We all know her time away from WWE will leave a huge hole but should also provide much needed new opportunities to a Women’s Division that was becoming stagnant.
With that blessing it just added on to Becky Lynch’s 18 months of pure luck.
What do I mean? Please allow me to explain.
Becky got her face broken by Nia Jax. Being injured by the walking botch-fest is never good, but it did in fact save Becky. Becky was scheduled to face Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series and from all indications, she would have lost.
Instead Nia Jax, injures Becky, and Becky is saved from the loss. Becky gained momentum, winning the Royal Rumble and going on to main event and win at WrestleMania.
After about a year, she started to portray a Rocky 3 persona She became overly confident, arrogant & braggadocios. She did promos bringing a bag of money to the ring & actually wearing a crown!
The character was about to hit ultimate cringe levels and was heading to turning the crowd against her. The growing sentiment from diehard fans was for Shayna Baszler to defeat Becky at WrestleMania. However the COVID-19 pandemic hit and Becky was saved.
Instead of potentially losing the crowd, and losing at WrestleMania, Lynch retained the title.
When it appeared Lynch was prime to lose the title, Lynch announced she is pregnant. Instead of putting over someone to drop the title (not her fault at all) she vacated the Raw Women’s Title to the Money In The Bank winner Asuka.
And finally when it would appear Lynch’s run was ending, she will be in prime position to return as a hero.
