In the aftermath of WrestleMania, PWP Nation’s Caden Moran gives his opinion on Roman Reigns and how he is the face of the WWE
Yeah. You read that right.
I will undeniably say in the face of the haters that the man behind the second WrestleMania loss of The Undertaker, Roman Reigns, is the top & undisputed face of World Wrestling Entertainment!
Man, I can already see the hatred in the eyes of the people who read this.
For over 3 years now, “The Big Dog” has been pushed and advertised as the top guy in all of WWE to much of the fans dismay. I can totally understand why a majority of WWE fans despise Roman Reigns. They show their displeasure by tweeting & crying in their parents basement. That does not change the fact that Roman Reigns is and will stay the top guy in WWE. Whether Roman is cheered or booed, the guy (no pun intended) always gets a reaction, he has improved dramatically over the past few years and he is the ultimate definition of how the face of the biggest wrestling company in the world should be.
Whether you like Roman Reigns or not, the guy is one of the most polarizing stars in WWE history. And whether you cheer or boo him, The Guy gets one of the biggest, if not the biggest, reactions in WWE today.
If you don’t believe me, take a look at the episode of RAW After WrestleMania. Roman Reigns had the biggest reaction of the night. The reaction he received was more electric & insane than the debut of The Revival and the return of Finn Balor. I understand that is a mighty big pill to swallow but might want to consider taking a sip of your tears and swallowing that pill because whether you love him or hate him, the reaction Roman receives on a weekly basis is unprecedented. This further proves that he is, without a doubt, the top guy in WWE. Believe that.
I think the people who despise Roman Reigns don’t give the man enough credit for his improvement. Over the past three years, Reigns has improved dramatically in the ring & has proven to be a solid in-ring worker. The guy knows how to work a match and to tell a story (that one won’t sit right with many people). Look at his matches with guys like AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Rusev, Kevin Owens, and Chris Jericho. A huge majority of those matches were excellent but, of course, since Roman Reigns was involved, all credit goes to one of those men named. Seems fair, right?
Not only has Roman improved his in-ring work, but he has also improved his character in the past few months. He is no longer acting like the superhero babyface that resembles another John Cena. He is becoming the arrogant and cocky scumbag that the vast majority of fans have been clamoring for ever since he went his own way once The Shield broke up. I mean, look at how he has acted since his feud with The Undertaker started. The arrogance of the man has resembled something great.
However, the majority of fans don’t want to credit that. “He doesn’t deserve it”, “He will never be on Undertaker’s level”, or the all simple, “He sucks”. Well, it’s time to face the facts that Roman Reigns does deserve it, he does not suck and in 5 to 10 years, he will be on The Undertaker’s level. Believe that.
What does the face of the WWE resemble these days? Well, he has to have the look, the fan base, and especially in today’s WWE, has to appeal to the kids. Roman Reigns has all of that.
Take one look at Roman Reigns and you can instantly understand why Vince McMahon loves the guy. He has the physique, the attire (albeit I absolutely despise the vest), and overall, he is just a really great looking guy that makes your girlfriend reconsider all of her decisions.
And for his fan base, yes, he has a fan base, the Roman Empire is a strong army of fans.
Roman does have his haters but there are also the people who love and support the guy just like any other wrestler. A vast majority of his supporters are what WWE appeals to, the kids. WWE is living in a new generation where the kids are the priority. We are no longer living in the Attitude Era so get over it because today’s youth is what WWE wants and they need someone who appeals to the kids. And what man does that? Roman Reigns. Believe that.
I expect 90% of the people who read this to get very upset and angry and that is exactly what I want. Read it and weep because it is time for the ultimate reality check: Roman Reigns is the face of WWE and it is time to accept that. But don’t just accept that. BELIEVE that.
