In case you missed it all over social media yesterday, AJ Styles took on Zack Sabre Jr. in a match at an independent show where Sabre was victorious. After the match, AJ Styles addressed the live crowd in the ring. Someone in the crowd took a video of the promo, which you can find below.
As we’ve noted in the past, WWE has either already signed AJ Styles and are planning on debuting him at the Royal Rumble, or they may have other plans for AJ all together.

If I’m not recovering from some weird arm-bar submission & there’s a spot in the Royal Rumble… [“You Deserve It!” chanted by the fans] I don’t deserve a thing, I don’t deserve you but I’ll tell you, if you put me in that Royal Rumble I’ll kick some ass for you guys!!!”

On top of that, word has come out that Ring of Honor was trying extremely hard to sign AJ Styles to an exclusive deal that would see him compete in just ROH & New Japan Pro Wrestling; similar to that of the deal The Young Bucks just recently signed. The deal was reportedly for “six figures.”
AJ reportedly informed ROH that WWE gave him a “blow away” offer that he couldn’t turn down. At this point, ROH removed AJ from all future promotional material and appearances.
