During a recent interview with Yahoo! Sports, WWE Superstar Big Show revealed that once his current contract expires with WWE, he will call it a career and retire.
Here’s the official quote:
“I know I’m done February 2018. That’s when my contract ends as a full-time, live event guy. We’ll see what happens after that, whether I roll into an ambassador role or what WWE has for me.”
As you can see, Big Show did leave the door open for a part-time deal with the company or to act as an ambassador for the company aboard and domestically.
As many already know, Big Show was scheduled to face-off against NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal at WrestleMania 33, but after numerous reports and credible sources, it appears as if that match has been nixed. Now, it could be a work and Shaq and Big Show could be trying to surprise us, but all signs are pointing to that match being off the card.
When asked about facing Shaq at WrestleMania, here’s what the “World’s Largest Athlete” had to say:
“Well, as far as I know on my end, I’m ready to go. It’s a situation that Shaq and the WWE have to work out. I don’t know if he chickened out, has other commitments … I don’t know.”
