On Monday Night’s Wrestling Observer Radio with Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer, they broke the news that WWE is reportedly in serious talks with Bill Goldberg about making a in-ring return to WWE.
Meltzer stated, “where there’s smoke, there’s fire” when it comes to Goldberg being featured so prominently in the WWE 2K17 video game. In the WWE 2K17 commercial, Goldberg is heavily featured with Brock Lesnar.
Here’s a quote from Meltzer on WOR:
“There are very serious talks with Bill Goldberg going on right now. They may already be done for all I know. Everyone is avoiding the question, but where there’s smoke there’s fire, and Bill Goldberg is going to be on SportsCenter on Wednesday, and he’s going to talk about his relationship with WWE, so there’s something going on. Put it this way, it’s in the very strong discussion stages at worst.”
Goldberg hasn’t been seen in WWE for over a decade and the relationship between Bill and WWE higher-ups has been known to be shaky to say the least.
There have been rumors within the company about Goldberg returning to WWE to square off against Brock Lesnar.
