New information has already come out in regards to Tessa Blanchard being fired from Impact Wrestling.
According to multiple reports, once Blanchard left for Mexico, the mindset was she was going to let her contract run out on 6/30.
The report that Impact wanted Blanchard to send in footage that would be spliced into an interview with Josh Matthews for the 6/1 Impact is indeed true. Blanchard was asked to send in a promo about the Slammiversary event, however she never sent in the footage that was requested.
Once Impact became aware that the relationship with Blanchard was fading, the company made several attempts to get her to come to the tapings and drop the title, which she out right refused to do.
Impact actually had the option to roll the time she spent away on to her contract, but instead opted to end the relationship with Blanchard. There is no word on where this leaves her fiancé Dago, however it has been reported that he is under a multi year deal with the company.
As far as future plans for the Impact World title, apparently there are multiple options on the table.
- The first option although unlikely, is to keep the match as is to a degree. With Blanchard gone and Michael Elgin suspended, the match as of now is Ace Austin vs. Eddie Edwards vs. Trey.
- The next option could be to add Taya and one more star to the match, possibly RVD or Moose (who is the “current” TNA Champion).
- The next and in my opinion, most likely option is they save a spot in the match for a new or returning talent. This spot in my opinion screams EC3.
