WWE Hall Of Famer Bret “The Hitman” Hart was recently interviewed by Notts TV News. In that interview, Hart, like many other times in the past, knocked WWE Executive Triple H for his “lack of genius” and his unwillingness to push talent over bodies.
Here’s the quote:
On Triple H Rewarding Bodies Over Good Wrestling:
“I’m always happy to be proven wrong, but I’ve never seen any real genius come from Triple H yet. I sound like I’m always knocking him, but it seems like he’s quick to push the great wrestling to the side and push the bodies, guys who have [good] physiques, all the time. They wonder why CM Punk quit and they wonder why Daniel Bryan got hurt. It’s because they squeeze so much out of those guys.” Hart said, “I’m just calling it the way it is. Triple H is a former bodybuilder. He’s all about bodies. He thought that Hulk Hogan was the greatest wrestler in the world. They think Ultimate Warrior was the greatest wrestler in the world because that’s what they’re attracted to, but he’s not really a wrestling fan like I grew up. I was a wrestling fan. I had wrestling in my blood. All the way through, I was a wrestling fan. I loved great wrestling. Like this year’s WrestleMania, there was no great wrestling on the card. All the great wrestling was two days before in the NXT [TakeOver: Dallas] show with [Shinsuke] Nakamura and Sami Zayn and [Asuka], whatever her name is, the Japanese girl, that wrestled Bayley. That’s what WrestleMania is all about. This year at WrestleMania, I thought it was absent on the bill. There was no wrestling on the card.”

Bret Hart also legitimately believes his gimmick was real, that he is “The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.” I was such a huge fan of Bret growing up, but now I just think he’s a whiny little baby who tried to take his ball and go home and got what he deserved for it.
I tend to agree.
Bret made great points.
WWE fanboys aren’t happy but the truth hurts.
I’ve been saying for MONTHS that Levesque is NO better than McMahon, and not the savior the Universe geeks make him out to be.
I think NXT sucks.
Levesque and NXT are overrated -wanna talk TNA numbers – what is NXT’s rating?
Oh yeah – ZERO!
They don’t have a network deal.
ANd the proof is in the guys and gals are coming up from NXT, and RAW and SD ratings are tanking.
And what cable channel is NXT on, being it is in such high demand?
(crickets)
How can you argue with Bret?
What HAS Levesque done that shows genius?
The WWE product is terrible, childish and PG.
They use BLOOD CAPSULES instead of blading.
Dusty and Abdullah and Bruiser Brody…AND THE Bruiser and Crusher are rolling over in their graves.
You gotta understand people – when you love something as much as I do, in pro wrestling, and you see what Vince has done to the industry – it puts a fire and hatred in me for WWE, Vince, and his “Universe”.
Wrestlemania has been terrible since 27.
Ironically – the last DECENT Mania, and the last one I went to, and the last WWE event I’ve been to PERIOD….
…was WM26 in AZ.
Which featured Bret.
Bret is in my top 5 of all time.
I like him that much.
Always did.
It is crazy – but one of my favorite matches ever – and probably my second favorite match on that card….
….was the Bulldogs and Tito vs the Foundation and Danny Davis at Wrestlemania 3 in Pontiac.
Vince McMahon has done more damage to the pro wrestling industry than Dixie EVER could.
Vince has had 30 years to do it and the resources to damage it.
The wrestling industry was better off before him.
And the QUALITY of pro wrestling was better before McMahon Jr.
And there were more thriving companies.
And that is flat-out fact.
I think of Magnum TA and Tully killing each other over the US Title in the best match ever, in that I QUIT match…
….and now that little acrobat jumping bean has the belt, and it isn’t even defended on main cards anymore.
Pathetic.
I see a LOT of Universe members upset over the Hitman’s TRUE comments.
It is funny how the Universe could dish it out, but can’t take it.
Very telling.
They like bashing other companies, but can’t look in the mirror.
CM Punk knew all this, and that’s why he left WWE.
Mad props and respect to him.
God bless him.
Danielson is NOWHERE NEAR as good as CM Punk.
In the ring OR on the mic.
