According to Uncle Dave Meltzer of MMAFighting.com, there is a new contract in place for WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar that will allow Brock to defend the Universal Championship at WrestleMania in New Jersey next year. Lesnar is currently scheduled to face AJ Styles at the Survivor Series on November 18, 2018.
Lesnar was also scheduled to compete at the WWE Royal Rumble on January 27, 2019, but with a looming UFC Championship fight imminent, we likely won’t see The Beast at that show.
Lesnar has multiple dates on his contract, but the length remains unknown. If somehow Lesnar cannot compete for the UFC Heavyweight Championship early next year against Daniel Cormier, Jon Jones would be the next in line. However, all indications are pointing towards Brock being ready to face Cormier in January.
This is an interesting time for Lesnar who just regained the Universal Championship after Roman Reigns had to step away from WWE to battle leukemia. He could be the first man to simultaneously hold a UFC & major WWE Championship.
