This past week, Damien Sandow was released by WWE, along with several other superstars on the roster including Wade Barrett, Alex Riley, etc.
According to PWInsider.com, it’s being said that Sandow actually didn’t do anything to warrant a release and left on good terms with WWE officials and management. WWE released Sandow reportedly to “freshen up the roster.” With superstars like Baron Corbin, Apollo Crews and many others debuting, WWE felt like the roster needed a change, which is why Sandow was included in last week’s releases.
Luckily for Sandow, he’s already getting a ton of indie dates and seems like he’ll be just fine. Considering Sandow left on good terms, it appears the door is open for an eventual return in the future.
