Do You Want Ronda Rousey in WWE?

PWP Owner Jay Alletto explains why it would make sense for Ronda Rousey to transition to WWE, but do YOU want to see her inside the squared circle? Please let us know at the conclusion of this article!

Recently, UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey made some waves in an interview on Fox Sports discussing how one of her future goals is to be the WWE Divas Champion. Even before Rousey made an appearance at this past years WrestleMania 31, she would openly discuss her love of professional wrestling & how she would want to get in there someday.

Here is a direct quote from her appearance on Fox Sports (quote courtesy of FoxSports.com):

“What I’d really like to do and I don’t know if I’ll have the time and I just want to do so many things, but I want to be remembered as one of the greatest fighters of all time at any sport.

What I would love to do, I got an Olympic medal, I would want to retire from MMA as one of the greatest of all time, I would love to have the chance to be the boxing world champion, and I would love to have the chance to be a jiu-jitsu world champion. I’d love to have the chance to be the Divas world champion and just be the best of everything at one point.

How that is possible to do, I’m going to have to figure that out but I am trying to figure that out. I think if anybody’s capable, I think that I am. I think it’s just a matter of prioritizing and timing and figuring out when I can do which, when. I’m figuring it out. I’d love to, but it’s a process.”

While WWE has invited her on many occasions, through both executives in the company like Triple H Stephanie McMahon, and talents in the company like CharlotteNaomi Sasha Banks, there is no indication or confirmation that she will have any involvement in future WWE events.

However, she has been extremely consistent when discussing WWE in media appearances that it seems likely she will make an appearance in the future. But when?

Rumors immediately started to circulate after WrestleMania 31 that WWE would be planning to feature Rousey at WrestleMania 32, possibly in a match against Stephanie McMahon. With her UFC contract & schedule, that seems very unlikely at this point in time.

Personally, I think that it would be silly if ANYONE didn’t want to welcome Ronda Rousey into the world of WWE with open arms. She has proven to be a mainstream draw & the amount of fanfare that she has gained throughout her run with the UFC has been unprecedented for a female mixed martial artist. Because of her tremendous athleticism & charisma, she will have no issues moving right to the top of the WWE Divas division.

Imagine the possibilities!

When her UFC run possibly comes to a conclusion, she could head down to The Performance Center in Orlando. While teaching Rousey the intricacies of WWE, she could be featured on the WWE Network exclusive NXT brand & help push monthly network buys with her drawing power.

Readers, let’s face it: there is much more longevity for an athlete performing in WWE in a controlled environment than competing inside the UFC octagon. Look at what Brock Lesnar is doing right now! A huge part of the reason why he chose to stay with WWE was because of the controlled environment & how lucrative his contract is.

And speaking of “lucrative contract”, imagine the contract that Rousey could negotiate? Not only would she sell loads of merchandise, but she could likely work out a “special deal” like Lesnar currently has.

With the WWE marketing machine behind her, the sky is the limit for Ronda Rousey as a potential WWE Diva.

What do YOU think about Ronda Rousey wanting to make a transition to sports entertainment? Will she be welcomed with open arms or do you feel like she will be taking the spot of WWE Divas that have worked extremely hard to earn their spots?
