Earlier this week, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, in an interview done with People magazine, as part of a cover story which listed him as the winner of the annual “Sexiest Man Alive” title, said that he was seriously considering running for President in 2020.
“I used to say it jokingly, but every time I was asked, it was with a real genuine interest, and it was very earnest. And so, I started to really think. Could I make a difference? Could I surround myself with really brilliant people to help me make decisions? Do I care about this country? And when the answers continued to come up, `yes,’ then I thought, there’s a good chance. Yeah, one day. Then we’ll do another interview like this.”
Johnson, in promoting the movie “Moana,” did other interviews where he said he could run in 2020, but based on how he answered the question with, “I wouldn’t rule it out,” I didn’t get the impressions he was serious on that actual time frame as opposed to something he’d consider at some point.
