According to a report via ESPN, WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon is expected to spend a reported $500 million dollars on funding the return of the XFL, which is slated to launch in 2020.
ESPN Insiders are claiming McMahon himself has stated this in interviews & meetings.
Also, XFL CEO Oliver Luck touched on the funding for the league:
“People were focused on the $100 million, but the truth is that doesn’t even get us to the 20-yard line.”
McMahon and Alpha Entertainment is expected to account for most of the funding for the league, but it’ll be interesting to see if McMahon seeks other investors.
