Someone get Enzo Amore and Big Cass a storyline, please!
Does the WWE not see that these are one of the most over acts in the entire company? How do these guys not have a viable story going right now? Or really, at all, since they have come up to the main roster?
It is mind numbing that this is the case. Sure, it was great to see Enzo and Cass involved in such a high profile segment this week with Susan G. Komen.
Yes, being featured there shows just how much they currently mean to WWE. So, use them! These guys are too good to be charitable props. They need to be featured prominently on every show with a real program that highlights and showcases just how special they are. Tag titles? That would be the perfect place to start.
Rusev is showing he can be a major player in WWE
When the United States Championship went back around the waist of Rusev a few months ago, my first instinct is that it’s back to being a jobber championship. At that time, that was my impression of the Bulgarian Brute. His feud with Roman Reigns has drastically altered that impression.
On a weekly basis throughout this program Rusev, along with Lana, has proved that he can hang with a top guy in the company and deliver in his role of getting heat as a heel. Obviously, that is not easy to do when working with Roman Reigns these days. Further, Rusev is putting on exhilarating performances in the ring. The matches are physical and intense. Much of that has to do with Rusev.
Props to him for stepping up and telling a great story that we now know will culminate inside Hell In A Cell. He’s certainly not going to go over in this feud, but he has solidified himself as a top heel that could be inserted in a main event angle at any time.
Seth Rollins is going to be a HUGE babyface
I questioned not bringing back Seth Rollins from injury as a babyface. If you listen to The Bottom Line every week you are probably sick of me saying it. The audience was just begging to see him back and begging to cheer him.
Alas, the promotion of Finn Balor to the main roster called for Rollins to stay heel. With Balor injured now, Raw is in desperate need of a main baby and Rollins is that guy. He’s shown it since he got screwed out of the Universal Championship by Triple H.
Each week his pops get louder and he hasn’t even officially turned yet. When that inevitable “moment” comes Seth Rollins will be the biggest babyface the company has seen since Daniel Bryan. I plead with you WWE! No silly white meat babyface stuff. Rollins needs to continue on the path he is on. Leave him be and you will have the star you’ve been waiting years for.
Raw needs to build meaningful stories
Wrestling needs good stories.
Without the story, the match itself is meaningless. This could not be more evident and topical than when discussing Monday Night Raw. Last night’s main event featured Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte for the Raw Women’s Championship. Undoubtedly the match was tremendous, but what made the match epic was the story behind it and the history between Sasha and Charlotte.
Raw needs more of this.
The matches on Raw in 2016 have truly been a step up than what we’ve seen in years past. If better stories get factored in, those matches will become even better and will make Raw can’t miss television.
Women’s wrestling is the best it’s ever been
Period. End of sentence. End of story. The women’s wrestling taking place today inside WWE rings on both Raw and SmackDown Live is simply the best women’s wrestling product in the history of wrestling. Trish and Lita were good, but Sasha, Charlotte, Bayley, Becky, and the entire women’s division today are better.
The matches are better, the stories are stronger, and most importantly the division is being painted as an equal to the men. A PPV Main Event is in the immediate future and WrestleMania is on the horizon.
