According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, John Cena is just about ready to return to the ring and is expected to be cleared anytime, if he hasn’t been cleared already.
He’s expected to appear at WrestleMania this weekend however his role has not yet been determined. If he is cleared, there is a major possibility of Cena getting physically involved.
Cena has been out of action since tearing his rotator cuff in December and had surgery. He’s been teasing his return heavily on Twitter as well as rehabbing the injury. Involvement in one of the major matches at WrestleMania seems extremely likely at this stage of the game.
Regardless of the outcome of the main event matches, WWE will likely be in a position to switch the creative direction of the company. They’re expecting many major stars back soon.
In an interview with Fox411, Cena stated that he’s “sweet talking” the doctors into letting him get back into the ring.
“Getting back in the ring is my goal and with surgical timetables, surgeons are very careful of their work and they can only go off of the people who are injured before them. I had a rotator cuff reattachment. I had an AC joint reconstruction and I had a giant arterial defect on the bone that goes into the ball in the socket in the shoulder. Basically, the round space was not round, it was cut in half. So all that had to regenerate and grow, but after over 400 hours of physical therapy, I feel pretty darn good.”
“The people who said conservatively nine months have now said well maybe I’ll reevaluate myself,” states Cena. “So I’m looking okay. I just got a little bit more sweet talking to do to the doctors so they can give me the green light.”
I see people criticizing Dixie Carter for her “bad management” – but name me ONE thing she has done bad in 2015 and 2016.
Can’t do it, can you?
I’m saying don’t go back 5 or more years. What’s done is done.
Let’s talk the last year or so – what has she done so bad?
Nothing – she got Corgan which I think is proving to be a good move- she doesn’t control creative.
I think WWE has been more poorly managed.
Bottom line is – TNA is better than WWE right now.
WWE just has the brand name.
TNA is a newer company on a small network.
If you look at it – WWE has lost more viewers numbers-wise in recent times than TNA.
Wrestlemania 32 is horribly booked.
WWE is just a bad product – and when you are an old-schooler like me – it is easy to see.
When you grew up on the great stuff in the 80s.
I think the Pope/Lashley storyline is the best thing goin’ in the biz right now.
It’s been built beautifully.
I love Pope -always did – the guy has IT – they need to put the belt on him.
When the show ended – couldn’t wait for the next week’s episode.
When you say that about TNA – that is a GOOD thing.
