We all know what’s coming this winter.
The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Marty Scrull, top NJPW Talent, and Cody Rhodes all have contracts coming up that are set to expire. There has already been rumors, speculation and reports on who may be headed where and for how much. The definitive reality is people will jump. It’s just simple math and finance. The “who” side of it will be answered shortly after the new year.
However, there is one man who more so than anyone else needs a mass exodus to happen, especially of The Elite, and that man is Cody Rhodes.
We all know the story by now, Cody leaves WWE to prove his worth and for the most part has hit it out of the park. However, Cody has had a large majority of his success as a member of The Bullet Club/Elite. Sure…Cody, The Bucks, Kenny are doing amazing things for the business, but where is Cody’s signature moment on his own?
Sadly the answer is that it doesn’t exist.
Cody has been Ring of Honor World Champion, has main evented New Japan Shows and has had multiple attempts to capture the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. He will main event “All In” by challenging for the NWA World Title, but he is doing all of this under the BC/Elite umbrella.
Yes, Cody has done a lot, but Cody on HIS OWN has not shown his drawing power or his ability to carry a company. Let everyone take the rumored large WWE money deals, but stay behind. It’s time to carry ROH, and NJPW. Go main event Madison Square Garden when ROH and NJPW debut there this April.
UPDATE: Cody has responded to this article and the following paragraph, that has now been removed from the article. Here is the paragraph and Cody’s response:
And before you throw “well JCD he’s behind All In,” let me make this very clear: this show is proven to be an ROH show and not a Cody/Bucks show, as originally presented.\
Cody’s response:
This is GROSSLY inaccurate in regards to All In. Gary Juster/Mark Davis were our choice. We’ve paid EVERY DIME from rent to security & we’ve “booked” the entire show between the three of us. Claiming a negative in the sea of positivity surrounding All In is a trashy take.

Our apologies to Cody, The Young Bucks and the entire team running the incredible All In event for the inaccuracies in the original report.
