John “Bradshaw” Layfield has taken to Twitter to blast Dave Meltzer; pondering why people still listen to the longest running wrestling newsletter entitled “The Wrestling Observer.”
Meltzer was such a great asset for WWE, he was so wrong and so easily manipulated that he was perfect to feed bogus info to in order to swerve the fans. He should have been on the payroll, how anyone still follows him is amazing.

This entire thing started over a Twitter conversation that involved Bruce Prichard, Conrad Thompson & Dave Meltzer. Prichard & Thompson host the super popular “Something To Wrestle With” podcast which gives fans an in-depth look into the world of WWE from his perspective.
Prichard uses comedy & characters at times to entertain his listeners, but a common trend is Conrad using the news from Meltzer during the time period discussed. And it quickly becomes evident that Prichard is not his biggest fan. The words “rumor & innuendo” are used very often by Prichard in relation to wrestling news as a way of debunking news.
Conrad put the entire process into perspective for Twitter by letting the fans know exactly what the premise is when talking about Dave Meltzer or “dirt sheet” news:
I don’t follow this at all Mike. You should be able to tell what’s comedy and what’s not. We cover what Meltzer wrote on every episode and Bruce shares “his version” from his memory. We leave it up to you to decide. That’s the show (with silly voices).

Meltzer responded to JBL in stride, taking it as a compliment:
I take it as as great compliment. https://t.co/3mWuihgZPY

We will continue to curate, but as always pick and choose wisely, the news we post from Meltzer & other wrestling journalists out there in this wild world.
