The G1 Special in USA took place at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center in Long Beach, California. The shows sold out in minutes and marked the beginning of a new era for NJPW.
Among the many incredible matches (including Okada successfully defending the IWGP World Championship against Cody), we saw the crowning over the 1st IWGP United States Champion.
Kenny Omega defeated Michael Elgin, Jay Lethal, & Tomohiro Ishii in the finals to win professional wrestlings newest championship.
