This past weekend, WWE revealed that it has cancelled the WWE Network show, “Talking Smack,” which is a recap of the latest episode of SmackDown LIVE every Tuesday night after 205 LIVE.
Since the cancellation, there has been plenty of speculation as to why the show was given the ax, but things have become more clear as Sports Illustrated has reported that WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon was the sole reason for the show being cancelled.
The report states that McMahon has not been regularly attending SmackDown LIVE tapings, but he was at last week’s show and was in attendance for Talking Smack. The report states that McMahon was not happy with how unscripted the show was and claimed that it doesn’t do the company any favors from a storyline aspect.
WWE originally noted that the cancellation was due to viewership numbers. It should be noted that Talking Smack will continue to air only after pay-per-views, as well as Raw Talk. But, it’s also being said that Vince McMahon plans on eliminating the show entirely when the chance presents itself.
