GOODBYE TO GARGANO
If you’re like me, you try to stay away from NXT Spoilers. It just doesn’t feel the same when you already know the what & the how. What happened & how did it happen. So needless to say, I’m happy I didn’t indulge myself in reading the spoilers.
This was the biggest night in the career of Johnny Gargano so far.
The NXT Championship was being defended in the main event as current champion Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas took on Johnny Gargano in an NXT Takeover: Philadelphia rematch.
The stipulation was that Gargano would have to leave NXT if he lost to Almas. I knew Gargano wasn’t going to become Champion, and as the match went on, it became evident what was coming….THE DUSTY FINISH!
But it wasn’t really a Dusty Finish. The referee bump happened, but instead of another referee coming in to help, Tomasso Ciampa made a surprise appearance and hit Gargano over the back with his crutch! Gargano let go of the Gargano Escape, leading to Almas recovering to hit a hammerlock DDT for the win.
You should go out of your way to watch this match as Gargano & Almas put on another fantastic display. Their in-ring chemistry is off the charts.
The series stands at 4-0 in favor of Almas.
Earlier today, Gargano signed his release papers from NXT. He will fulfill all already scheduled appearances before he leaves the promotion.
This story isn’t close to over & I love the intrigue moving forward. How will Gargano get is revenge & when will it happen? Tell us on Twitter @PWPNation!

Also on NXT last night, Velveteen Dream got back on the winning side of things as he defeated No Way Jose with The Purple Rainmaker, his Randy Savage-like flying elbow drop. Solid match.
Speaking of Velveteen Dream, earlier today, Dream took to Twitter for a shoot of sorts. Fans are already speculating that this shoot is a work & will be used to set up Dream’s next feud heading into NXT Takeover: New Orleans.

I speculated earlier today that Dream vs. Ricochet would be a smart way for WWE to debut the ultra popular veteran. There’s no question that it would be a fantastic match. A memorable way to introduce Ricochet to the WWE Universe on the biggest wrestling weekend of the year.
But I have no idea if that is where they are actually going.
It was announced the Shayna Baszler vs. Kairi Sane will take place next week on NXT.
Finally, The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is returning in two weeks on NXT. TM61 has already announced that they will be in the tournament. We have to believe that this is where NXT will debut War Machine.
I am really pumped up to see the dynamic Warbeard Hanson & Raymond Rowe make their presence felt. And am even MORE PUMPED to see War Machine vs. The Authors of Pain!
