On a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that former TNA President and current Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer Dixie Carter is on her way out of the company completely.

According to Meltzer, unlike what’s being said publicly, Carter is completely out of power and has no control over what happens on a day-to-day basis. Apparently, this transition to Chief Strategy Officer was to save face and have a smooth transition of Billy Corgan as the new TNA President, who is said to have complete control over TNA Wrestling’s creative team.

Meltzer added that Dixie Carter’s presence at the last two sets of TV tapings has been virtually non-existent and left early both times. Meltzer wrapped up by saying that many people were messaging him about Billy Corgan’s appearance on Vince Russo‘s podcast and that people were saying that it brought up a lot of “red flags,” which is an indication that Russo might be an adviser of some sort to Corgan.

But it should be noted that Russo has shot down the rumors of wanting to return to TNA as a full time writer and has said that he has too much going on, especially considering he’s writing for Rocky Mountain Pro Wrestling, which has just stuck up a deal to be on national TV.

Speaking of television, it should be noted that TNA Impact Wrestling’s ratings have been climbing for weeks now and are now consistently in the high 300,000.

Here are the numbers for the last month:

  • August 25: 373K
  • August 19: 355K
  • August 11: 315K
  • August 4: 317K
  • July 28: 350K

Many are saying that the higher ratings is a result of the show being very well produced and booked in the last two months. Also, Impact Wrestling is heading into their biggest show of the year, “Bound for Glory,” so this ratings spike couldn’t have come at a better time.
