New Japan Pro Wrestling has unfortunately announced that their current NEVER Openweight Champion Katsuyori Shibata has a deteriorating thoracic spine. He has been pulled from the current NJPW Destruction Tour.
An official press release was issued by NJPW and can be accessed at this link. There is no immediate timetable for his return & no word on the future of the NEVER Openweight Championship at the moment.
