PWP’s Tim Bell continues to preview Beyond Wrestling’s “Tournament 4 Tomorrow”, as he interviews TJ Marconi.
Continuing PWP’s focus on Beyond Wrestling’s Tournament For Tomorrow 4, taking place at Fete Music in Providence, RI on November 28th & 29th, I had a chance to speak with the largest member of Beyond’s Crusade For Change faction, TJ Marconi.
Marconi has made an impressive name for himself in many different promotions in the Northeast, and could be primed for major individual success should he emerge from TFT4 victorious. However, as you’ll read below, his focus doesn’t stray from the collective cause of the Crusade For Change.
Tim Bell – “Crusade For Change chose to remove themselves from the Tag Team Tournament, and focus instead on the Singles Tournament. 4 Entries versus 2 makes sense, but with the winners of each singles block moving on to a fatal four way on Sunday night, any thoughts or concerns on potential friction if more than one CFC member advances to that final? You can only cooperate for so long?”
TJ Marconi – “It’s all a part of the plan. With more CFC members in the finals, it guarantees one of us will be winning Tournament for Tomorrow. If one wins, we all win, plain and simple. There’s no friction, no foolish pride. Only a battle plan that is coming into fruition.”
Tim Bell – “With 4 entrants in the Singles field, CFC certainly has the odds in their favor, and you’ve all stated that if one of you win, all of you win. Should one of you be victorious, what then becomes the goal for CFC in Beyond Wrestling? You’d certainly have quite a bit of power after a victory of that magnitude.”
TJ Marconi – “Simple, weaning out the weak and undesirables. Cleansing the roster, and taking our place atop the throne of Beyond Wrestling.”
Tim Bell – “CFC has always maintained an extremely unified front in Beyond, however, as a competitor you obviously have individual goals of your own. Individually, are there specific matches or accomplishments that you’re striving for in Beyond? Any specific goals carved out for yourself within Beyond?”
TJ Marconi – “How about a Singles match at Fete Music? Wouldn’t that be something?? Everywhere else I’ve been wrestling I’ve not only done well, I became the top dog in those companies (ACE, WOW, FBW, NYWC, UVT, etc.)”
Tim Bell – “Doing some research, I saw that you were trained by Andrew “Magic” Morgan, as well as Nunzio & Samu. From a fan’s perspective, those seem like 3 very different personalities, with 3 different styles of wrestling. How have they influenced your style today, and who else has been of great influence in your career?”
TJ Marconi – “You forget to mention my time with Matt Osborne, the original Doink the Clown. Andrew Morgan was my original trainer and his best advice was to get as many different “types of ice cream of Wrestling” as possible, so I went to as many schools and trainers as I could. Each one taught me a different aspect of wrestling, thus leading to my own “flavor of ice cream” today.”
Tim Bell – “A couple general questions. What would you say has been the biggest moment of your career to this point?”
TJ Marconi – “Wrestling against Tommy Dreamer on November 7th and having interactions with the guy who made me want to become a wrestler, Kevin Nash, on September 25 at Ace pro wrestling and Five Borough WRESTLING this past year.”
Tim Bell – “Do you have a dream match/opponent you’d like to step inside the ring against?”
TJ Marconi – “I think myself and Drew Galloway would be phenomenal.”
Tim Bell – “Any final thoughts you’d like to leave for the fans coming to Fete Music in Providence, RI for TFT4?”
TJ Marconi – “Go to these shows because it’s going be a crazy weekend of events. And of course, I’ll be there, and I’m extremely entertaining.”
Thanks for reading, everyone!
