PWP Nation Staff Predictions: Elimination Chamber 2019

Some of the PWP Nation staff make their predictions for Elimination Chamber 2019!

With the 2019 edition of Elimination Chamber going down tonight, some of us here at PWPNation.com decided to discuss our own personal predictions for tonight’s event.

Here’s who is making the picks:

  • Jay Alletto: Owner & Founder of PWPNation.com
  • Eron Ramadanov: Editor-in-Chief
  • Caden Moran: Featured Columnist & News Reporter
  • John “JCD” Dimiceli: Featured Columnist & News Reporter
  • Justin Bailey: MMA News Reporter

Now, let’s get to the picks!

Buddy Murphy vs Akira Tozawa (WWE Cruiserweight Championship)

Jay: Buddy Murphy

Look, he’s on a roll. I don’t see it ending here.

Eron: Buddy Murphy

As a casual viewer of 205 LIVE, I don’t really have much invested in this match. I will say that I think Murphy’s title reign will continue as he seems like the show’s best option at this time.

Caden: Buddy Murphy

Buddy Murphy has been the guy of 205 Live, and I expect him to continue being the guy. I expect a fun match, but I see Murphy retaining here. I see something big planned for him at Wrestlemania.

John: Buddy Murphy

I’m picking Murphy here as it seems WWE is trying to pull off something (anything) big for him at Wrestlemania with these, “I want real competition”, challenges.

Justin: Buddy Murphy

Murphy retains in another solid cruiserweight match on the preshow. WWE needs to move these Cruiserweight Title matches to the main card more often if they want the general audience to take 205 Live more seriously. I imagine Murphy will hold the title until WrestleMania, but no one on 205 Live really stands out as a true challenger just yet.

Braun Strowman vs Baron Corbin (No Disqualification Match)

Jay: Braun Strowman

This needs to end and hopefully a match here does it. I wouldn’t be surprised if McIntyre helps Corbin win, though.

Eron: Braun Strowman

I don’t know why this match is needed on an already stacked show, but here it is. Braun goes over here, and if he doesn’t, that’ll be a real shame. I expect this to be a 5-7 minute match, with Strowman winning decisively.

Caden: Braun Strowman

I have given up on Braun over the last few months, and matches like this are exactly the reason why. I see Braun going over, and hopefully this “feud” will end forever.

John: Baron Corbin

I’m gonna go upset here and pick Corbin as I could see Drew McIntyre getting involved.

Justin: Braun Strowman

Strowman has lost significant heat and he seems a little lost in the shuffle at this point. This feels like we’ve seen this match over and over, though it’s technically only the second singles match they’ll have. Hopefully, this is the blow off and both guys move on to new programs.

Bobby Lashley & Lio Rush vs Finn Balor (WWE Intercontinental Championship)

Jay: Bobby Lashley & Lio Rush

I don’t see Finn winning here. I think the feud continues to Mania because what else will these two do?

Eron: Finn Balor via DQ

I don’t see Bobby Lashley dropping the championship here, but I do think they need to protect Balor after his loss to Lesnar. This would be a good way of doing it, having Balor come very close to beating Lashley, but having Rush cause a disqualification and allowing Lashley to retain. They’ll do the title change at WrestleMania.

Caden: Bobby Lashley & Lio Rush

I believe Finn will claim the gold at Wrestlemania, so I think Lashley & Lio find a way to get the job done.

John: Bobby Lashley & Lio Rush

I want to say Balor, but I’ll pick Lashley as I could see Lio causing a “legal” distraction. I expect this angle to pay off at Wrestlemania.

Justin: Finn Balor

The importance placed on the IC title last year seems to have been lost yet again with the shuffling of the title between Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Bobby Lashley. Personally, Lashley does nothing for me, and him holding the IC Title does nothing for the title. I see Balor getting the fall on Rush to win the title and they can save Lashley from taking the fall and do a rematch at Fastlane. I like the idea of Balor holding the IC Title for a good while and bringing it back up to where it was in 2018.

The Miz & Shane McMahon vs The Usos (WWE Smackdown Live Tag Team Championships)

Jay: The Miz & Shane McMahon

It was likely the plan all along for them to win, but Jimmy Uso’s recent arrest likely solidifies that even further.

Eron: The Miz & Shance McMahon

Considering recent events with the Usos, and the fact that this Miz & McMahon storyline and title reign just started, I don’t see them dropping the titles just yet. I don’t have high hopes for this match and wouldn’t be surprised if it was the shortest match on the show.

Caden: The Miz & Shane McMahon

Before Jimmy Uso’s arrest, I was planning on picking The Usos to win here. I do not see The Miz and Shane McMahon holding onto the titles for that long, but considering the controversy surrounding Jimmy, I expect them to hold on here.

John: The Miz & Shane McMahon

Boy, with Jimmy Uso’s arrest this became really hard to call. I would have predicted the change to set up the Miz & Shane implosion, but now I am not so sure. I guess I’ll go Miz & Shane.

Justin: The Miz & Shane McMahon

We all know this is culminating with Shane and Miz splitting, but I don’t see that happening until Fastlane. Shane and Miz will keep the titles, but it shouldn’t be a clean win. Shane and Miz getting clean wins over The Bar and The Usos does no good for the tag division.

Ronda Rousey vs Ruby Riott (WWE RAW Women’s Championship)

Jay: Ronda Rousey

No explanation needed. They announced this match on Twitter & haven’t really acknowledged that Riott has a chance here.

Eron: Ronda Rousey

Not much to say here. I’m glad Ruby is getting a singles match with the RAW Women’s Champion, but this isn’t the best time because Ronda won’t be dropping it here, especially with Mania around the corner. I expect this to be a decisive and rather swift win for Ronda.

Caden: Ronda Rousey

I wouldn’t expect such a quick match. I do see Ronda retaining, obviously, but I do think Ruby will get a good showing in. Just a hunch.

John: Ronda Rousey

I’m not even gonna lie, with Charlotte in the front row, this COULD scream screw job finish. Heck, I’ll even say it should. But I’m going to assume Ronda undefeated as a single would be in play for Wrestlemania, so I’ll take Ronda here maybe even with some unexpected help from Becky if Charlotte tries to get involved. However, if you want to shake things up, Ruby is the move with Charlotte interference.

Justin: Ronda Rousey

Obviously, Rousey will retain with there being no sense in the world to throw the title on Riott for shock value. Charlotte will be ringside, and expect Becky Lynch to make an appearance in some form or fashion as well, as Lynch is in Houston for an appearance today.

Women’s Tag Team Championships (Elimination Chamber Match)

Jay: Nia Jax & Tamina

The second generation stuff, plus if they stick to the norm, WWE has been crowning first ever Champions for them to be dethroned in a big moment shortly thereafter. I really think WWE is going to push Jax back on track here, but I hope I’m wrong!

Eron: Nia Jax & Tamina

I had a tough time with this match because I’m unsure what the plans are for this title. Presuming that the titles will float to RAW and SmackDown, I see Nia and Tamina getting the win here, leading to Sasha and Bayley chasing them into WrestleMania. However, if the women in the tag division can travel between brands, I could see the IIconics walking out of Elimination Chamber as champions. But my gut tells me Nia & Tamina.

Caden: Nia Jax & Tamina

My heart says Banks & Bayley, but my mind says Nia Jax & Tamina. Along with Jay’s thought, I could see the heel team claiming the gold and having Banks & Bayley chase them to Wrestlemania, having the feel good moment happen there.

John: Sasha Banks & Bayley

These titles scream Bayley and Sasha. The first ones in scares me a little but I’ll stay the course. I think Bayley and Sasha survive and carry the belts into Wrestlemania.

Justin: Nia Jax & Tamina

The heavy favorite is Banks and Bayley, but I see a twist with Bayley and Banks finally splitting up during this match, though I’m not sure who turns on who. This would begin their program to have a match at WrestleMania. With that being said, I see the titles being put on Jax and Tamina. No other team really has any heat to win the titles.

WWE Championship (Elimination Chamber Match)

Jay: Daniel Bryan

He just debuted a new championship. WWE is going to milk this. Since they love stacking up title reigns, there’s a shot in the dark Bryan loses and regains the title shortly after at Fastlane. But, give me Bryan in a really good Chamber match.

Eron: Daniel Bryan

This should be a really fun match. There’s a lot you can do with all of these guys, especially Styles and Hardy inside the structure. As for a winner, I don’t see Bryan dropping the title right now. I suspect we’ll see a lengthy title run for Bryan, considering the addition of Erick Rowan and the new 100% eco-friendly championship. It will be an awesome moment when he does drop the title to the right person down the line, but this show isn’t the right time or place.

Caden: Daniel Bryan

I agree with both Jay and Eron. I expect a long title run for Bryan, especially with that new championship. I expect a very fun match, but Bryan will walk out retaining.

John: Daniel Bryan

I’m going with Daniel Bryan. I think the match will be more about what gets set up for Wrestlemania.

Justin: Daniel Bryan

Bryan will retain, but you have to be curious if WWE will have Kofi be the last one eliminated to further his short-term push from Tuesday. I don’t see any of these guys feuding with Bryan going into WrestleMania, with that spot possibly going to John Cena or Rey Mysterio.
