In some surprising news, WWE announcer and backstage interviewer Renee Young will be a part of the Monday Night RAW commentary team next week, while Jonathan Coachman is on assignment.
Young will join Corey Graves and Michael Cole for the entirety of the show. This news is history making, as this will be the first time a female commentator will announce for the entire duration of the show.
This news also comes after Young was announced as part of the 3-person announce team for the 2nd Annual Mae Young Classic, alongside Beth Phoenix and Michael Cole. There is also speculation that Young will announce the upcoming all-female WWE pay-per-view called, “Evolution.”
Some are speculating that this Monday’s RAW will be an audition for Young, as WWE may have plans for her to be a permanent fixture on WWE commentary. It’s said that many backstage and internally are rooting for Young to succeed on commentary due to the fact of being very well-liked by fellow co-workers and WWE brass.
Young has commentated for WWE Superstars and when she was in developmental, where she called several NXT shows.
