Speculation over the future of the WWE Universal Championship has been running wild since the news broke of Roman Reigns‘ departure from WWE to battle cancer.
Since then, there have been many wondering what’s next for the title.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Brock Lesnar is not expected to defend the WWE Universal Championship against Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 35, as many would have figured.
Lesnar is also not being advertised for the WWE TLC pay-per-view, which is scheduled for mid-December. Many believe that Strowman vs. Lesnar could take place at WWE Royal Rumble and could be the time for WWE to finally give Braun his win over Brock.
The report claims that the current main event plans for WrestleMania 35 are still being discussed.
