Goldberg in New Japan? It’s possible!
In his weekly coverage of professional wrestling for Sports Illustrated, Justin Barrasso is reporting that officials for New Japan Pro-Wrestling are actively pursuing Bill Goldberg.
According to Barrasso, NJPW is looking to sign Goldberg to a “big events” contract, similar to what WWE does with Brock Lesnar. It’s unclear if Goldberg is interested in signing with New Japan, but if the money is right, it’s certainly a possibility.
It should be noted that Goldberg made it very clear that he had to work incredibly hard to maintain his work ethic in WWE and didn’t seem too interested in returning to an in-ring role for WWE. It should also be noted that WWE announced this week that Goldberg is the first name that will be inducted into the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame.
With that being said, Barrasso says that we shouldn’t expect to see NJPW make any advances on Goldberg until after WrestleMania 34, which Goldberg will be heavily featured as one of the headliners for the WWE Hall of Fame.
