According to a report via The Dirty Sheets, Saudi Arabia and the Saudi General Sports Authority has reportedly offered WWE a whopping $20 million dollars for former WWE Superstar and now Hollywood actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to appear as WWE Champion in 2019.
As several outlets reported earlier this year, including the source cited above, WWE has been targeting The Rock to return to WWE and face the current WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 35 in East Rutherford, New Jersey next year.
The report also claims that The Rock has been offered $4 million dollars by WWE to appear at WrestleMania and SummerSlam in 2019.
In interpreting the report, it’s unclear if the Saudi government is offering WWE the $20 million dollars or if all $20 million dollars will be going to The Rock himself. Either way, it’s being said that if everything goes to the plans of WWE and Saudi Arabia, The Rock could be paid up to $24-$26 million dollars next year for 3 appearances/matches.
Depending on The Rock’s schedule and willingness to return to WWE, we could see a scenario in which The Rock holds onto the WWE Universal Championship for a large portion of 2019.
