Ronda Rousey Loses in 48 Seconds to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207; More Notes Inside

Well… that was fast.

At UFC 207 from Las Vegas, NV ended in familiar fashion, as former UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey was defeated by reigning champion Amanda Nunes via TKO 48 seconds into the first round. Rousey hasn’t been in the octagon since her loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 over a year ago.

Many speculated that regardless of the outcome, this would be Ronda’s last fight in the UFC and in Mixed Martial Arts completely. Reports and rumors circulated that Rousey had been laser-focused on this fight, but it took a huge mental toll on the once great champion.

After the fight, Rousey did not stick around for the interview with Joe Rogan and quickly left the octagon surrounded by her training staff. UFC President Dana White did not make it clear if this was Rousey’s last fight, but all signs point to that being the case.

Once the dust settled, Nunes didn’t stop her assualt on Rousey. The defending champion took to Twitter to add insult to injury:
