Rumors started circulating this week that Ronda Rousey needed consoling after her UFC 205 weigh-in surprise face-off with undisputed UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes. The face-off happened to announce the main event of the December 30, 2016 UFC 207 card where Rousey will try to regain her championship. However, this entire situation was awkward from the beginning.
At the announcement, Rousey hastily pulled away from UFC President Dana White moments before Joe Rogan interviewed Nunes. Rousey stormed off the stage. When White was asked about the incident, he noted that Rousey was never supposed to be interviewed on stage after the face-off and stormed off because of that. This week, rumors started flowing about Rousey actually needing consoling backstage, which essentially debunks what Dana White said. MMA news reporter Dave Meltzer confirmed the consoling story on Twitter:
@davemeltzerWON any truth to the reports that Ronda was upset & had to be consoled after a face off in NY? If true, she's done.

The news of Rousey needing to be consoled adds an entirely new element to this story. UFC fans have barely seen Ronda since her devastating loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193. She appeared on Saturday Night Live as the host and publicly congratulated Holm. Then in a weird turn of events, Rousey appeared on Ellen & admitted to becoming suicidal after the loss.
Is Ronda in the right state of mind to compete once again on this level? Or should she have taken a rematch against Holly Holm to avenge that devastating loss before challenging for the title again?
Reports started to surface just a few months ago that Rousey was training extremely hard for a UFC return, but a potential fight hadn’t been confirmed yet. We will have to wait until December 30, 2016 to find out which Ronda Rousey walks into The Octagon.
