Earlier today, Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso released his “Week in Wrestling” report, which detailed a very interesting tidbit about the future of Chris Jericho‘s time in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and could involve the IWGP Heavyweight Champion himself Kazuchika Okada.
Here’s a quote from his report via WrestleZone.com:
Jericho is also extremely smart in the opponents he is choosing. He has chosen two workhorses in Kenny Omega and Tetsuya Naito, and the only other opponent I have heard discussed down the line from those close to NJPW operations is a dream match against IWGP heavyweight champion Kazuchika Okada.
Assuming Barrasso’s information is true, this would indicate that Jericho’s time in New Japan Pro-Wrestling will not end with Kenny Omega or Tetsuya Naito.
Also, keep in mind that Barrasso is not reporting that this match is in the plans, but that NJPW officials are pondering the match as a possibility.
