According to The Wrestling Observer, WWE is already gearing up for their huge NXT Takeover: Dallas live special event on WrestleMania weekend. Finn Balor could be facing Sami Zayn in what could be one of the biggest matches in NXT history.
There is also a rumored “self-proclaimed #1 contender” to the championship that could be an option. (One would have to assume Baron Corbin will be looking for a title shot in the near future).
NXT is planning a series of matches between Balor & Zayn to headline their tour of the Midwest in 2016, which has been an indication of a future NXT Takeover main event in the past. Last Spring, Kevin Owens defended the NXT Championship against Balor at various NXT live events.
In addition, NXT Tag Team Champions Dash and Dawson are rumored to be scheduled to defend the straps against Jason Jordan & Chas Gable in Dallas.
NXT Takeover: Dallas is scheduled for April 1st at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center and is SOLD OUT.
