With Ryan Spann out, enter Sam Alvey.

With a history of accepting fights on short notice, Alvey (33-11 MMA, 10-6 UFC) will be making his way to Melbourne, Australia on Feb. 9 for UFC 234. First reported by News.com.au, Alvey will look to bounce back from his most recent loss to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira via TKO last September. Before the loss, Alvey rolled off back-to-back wins over Marcin Prachnio and Gian Villante in 2018. Alvey was originally scheduled to fight Gadhimurad Antigulov at UFC on ESPN+ 3.

Crute (9-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) will be putting his undefeated record on the line in his 2nd UFC appearance. In his Octagon debut, Crute defeated Paul Craig via submission last December. Before the debut, Crute successfully fought on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, defeating Chris Birchler via TKO last July.
