Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that current NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura will remain in NXT for a “very long time,” as stated on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio.
In the report, Meltzer compares Nakamura’s situation with former NXT Women’s Champion Bayley, who took a much longer time to make it to the main roster than the average NXT superstar.
Although many in WWE have grown to be very impressed with Nakamura and how quickly he’s picked up the WWE style, WWE officials feel that Nakamura is more valuable to the company in NXT and to be the “flagship superstar” of the NXT brand, a lot like Finn Balor when he was NXT Champion.
With past injuries and age, many are concerned that WWE is wasting Shinsuke Nakamura’s talents in NXT, instead of putting him on the main roster, where he can help the lacking crop of babyfaces in WWE right now.
