Well, it’s that time of the year once again for WrestleMania rumors to run wild, so let’s begin with some SPECULATION from the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer.
According to Uncle Dave, the previous reports of a WrestleMania match between AJ Styles and John Cena are incorrect and are not being talked about at this time. Meltzer claims that there is someone who is “a bigger star” that will be Cena’s opponent at WrestleMania.
Speculation has led to John Cena’s opponent being the Undertaker, considering he’s rumored to return at RAW 25 and is likely to perform at WrestleMania 34. It should be noted that WWE has tried, for several years in the past, to book Cena vs. Undertaker at WrestleMania, so it would make sense that WWE would go in this direction, as it might be the last time they can do this match. Some other names that have been thrown out there are Goldberg, Batista and even Hulk Hogan.
Regardless, this is all speculation and we won’t really know which direction WWE is going in until RAW’s 25th anniversary show, which is scheduled to take place on January 22nd, 2018 at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York. Both Cena and the Undertaker are both scheduled and advertised to be there.
