PWP’s Matthew Hollie dives into the world of Women’s Pro Wrestling on the Independent Wrestling Scene in this look at STARDOM USA.
With STARDOM’s 5 Star Grand Prix coming to an end on Wednesday, two prominent figures for STARDOM USA will be in attendance and will make their presence felt for STARDOM USA in general. Those names are: STARDOM USA’s Branch President & Commissioner, Cheerleader Melissa and Madusa, respectively.
With the intent of getting STARDOM USA up and running in the states, Melissa and Madusa are all about bringing credibility and seriousness to the STARDOM brand. Their chemistry should help get the USA branch of STARDOM up and running with a dedicated approach to bringing the idea of serious competition in their brand.
Despite their star power, these ladies will have to use their resources wisely in order to bring quality talent into the promotion. In Madusa’s case, STARDOM has a lot to gain with talent being serious with the wrestling side, and a lot to lose if no one is serious about it and using the promotion to get ahead in the world of modeling.
And that is something the fans cannot stand in wrestling, models being wrestlers.
Getting talent that take wrestling seriously will help them in the long haul. It may not be an easy task, but nobody said it can’t be done.
While STARDOM is known for quality wrestling as well as modeling on the side, Madusa is set on making wrestling a serious priority at the same time making it a happening in the USA & Japan. While I have to applaud Madusa, I have to wonder what kind of changes she’ll bring along the way. It’s only a matter of time before whatever changes she might bring come to fruition.
With lots of talented ladies making an impact in the women’s wrestling scene, it might be difficult to implement these kinds of changes to the STARDOM scene, ever since Yoshiko nailing Act Yakasua with closed fist strikes gave STARDOM a black eye.
Since the changes in the aftermath of that incident, STARDOM has been on everyone’s good graces. One has to wonder what Madusa has to offer now that she’s the commissioner of STARDOM USA.
Cheerleader Melissa has said in the past the bringing STARDOM to the United States is her dream from the get go, and with October being the target date for that dream to be realized, she’ll have no problem having an icon in women’s wrestling helping her get that vision in place.
Melissa has solidified herself as one of the best in women’s wrestling today, but with her name attached with STARDOM now that she is their USA Branch President, it might be a lot easier to bring in independent talent to help solidify an American roster for the STARDOM brand.
So far, she has done just that with the likes of Chelsea, Hudson Envy, Thunder Rosa, and Heidi Lovelace. When it comes to bringing in talent from all across the country, this is a pretty good roster.
With two of the biggest names in women’s wrestling helping STARDOM USA get off the ground, it’s going to be a whole lot interesting from here on out. I believe that STARDOM USA will be a successful venture for the STARDOM brand and those involved.
With Melissa’s vision in place and Madusa’s “wrestling is serious business” mentality, it’s going to be a real good combination no matter what. Bringing the seriousness of wrestling with two people who know how t0 bring talented ladies in is extraordinary.
All the opportunities are needed to bring the pieces together. And this is the perfect leadership group to do it.
