Here is the story of The Birth of the DDT.
The DDT in professional wrestling is a move where the wrestler has an opponent in a front face headlock, the competitor falls backwards to drive their opponent’s head into the mat.
The move was accidently discovered by Jake “The Snake” Roberts when he accidently botched a move in the ring. This popular move has been adapted and used by several wrestlers.
The earliest known appearance of this move was in the 1970s from a Mexican Luchador.
The DDT has been adapted and changed by several wrestlers. It has been modified to be used as a finisher. However, you still end up with the same results of the original DDT.
Some may think that the name DDT came from an extremely hazardous chemical that is deep in the ground that can cause brain damage.
The abbreviation DDT could mean a list of things.
Here are some that might have been suggested or it was rumored to be: Drape Drop Takedown, Damien’s Dinner Time, Damien’s Death Trap, Drop Down Town, Definitely Dead Tomorrow, and others were listed.
I would not be able to provide you with that answer. Honestly, the meaning of the DDT could be different to each wrestler who chooses to use it as a finisher, since there are so many different variations to it.
There are so many different variations to the move that the list is too long there are both front face lock variations and inverted face lock variations.

How to execute a proper DDT:
1. Get them into a bent over position.
2. Get them into a headlock and hold their arm so that it is around your waist.
3. Fall backward.
Please remember that wrestling moves can hurt the opponent if not done properly. This should only be done by a trained professional or with supervision of a trained professional.
