COVID-19 Vaccination is a daily topic in most sports related conversations in 2021. Right now, there is an emphasized focus on the requirements for major sports leagues & their players union.
- In the following excerpt, Tony Khan discusses vaccination status of the AEW roster to the Bloomberg Business of Sports podcast.
- Tony Khan made it clear that he has not made the vaccine mandatory, but strongly encourages the vaccination of his roster.
- Tony Khan describes the lifestyle of a vaccinated AEW roster member as “savory.”
“Most of the roster has gotten it and we have encouraged people to do so, haven’t put in mandatory, but I’ve also strongly encouraged and put in protocols to encourage everyone to do so because it’s much easier for the vaccinated folks to get through the day and interact outside of the ring. They just have to go through less rigorous procedures and testing. We’ve definitely encouraged everyone to do it. Most of our people are.”
Bloomberg Business of Sports podcast then asked TK about any incentives for people who do get the vaccine:
“We have created a great backstage environment where people want to spend time together. We’ve also put in thorough testing protocols. Not being a part of the most rigorous levels of testing and also having the ability to go out and do what you want and live your life like we did before without these protocols makes it much more savory and encouraging for the vaccinated.”
And of course, the United States Government’s highest priority is to “vaccinate the unvaccinated”, as stated by Dr. Fauci.
Consult with your personal physician if you have questions about the COVID-19 vaccine.
