Even though Minneapolis’ US Bank Stadium was considered a front runner to host WrestleMania 33, nothing was ever made official on WWE’s behalf.
A number of people within WWE expected an announcement to be made since RAW was in town this week, but nothing ever came up as WWE has their own timetables for making show announcements. The new stadium was expected to be named as the host since it will host the 2018 Super Bowl, and WWE likes to set attendance records in the same stadiums first.
It is now being said that Orlando, this year’s Royal Rumble host, is also in the running as a WrestleMania candidate. Orlando previously hosted WrestleMania 24 in the Citrus Bowl, which has since been completely renovated.
