The Wrestling Observer Radio Show has reported that Sting did NOT suffer a broken neck at Night of Champions during his WWE World Heavyweight Championship match with Seth Rollins. An MRI was given to Sting and no fractures were shown.
PWInsider then reported that WWE is concerned about a possible spinal injury. If a spinal injury was sustained, it is possible that WWE will not use him in a wrestling capacity again in the future.
At this point, it’s all speculation. It looked like a severe case of whiplash to me…similar to what is sustained during a car accident.
