In recent weeks, there has been question if the Undertaker will be competing at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, Florida next year. The concern arose when photos of the Undertaker were posted online possibly using crutches and a report stating that he had hip surgery only a few months ago.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE fully expects the Undertaker to wrestle at WrestleMania 33. Additionally, the report states that the WWE is positioning for the Undertaker’s opponent to be Goldberg.
Goldberg has recently returned to WWE after a 12 year hiatus from the company and is set to face Brock Lesnar at WWE Survivor Series in November. According to the report, Goldberg is assumed to be under a one match contract at the moment, but WWE is hoping to possibly extend that contract and have Goldberg work another match. Sources say WWE is waiting to see how things work out with Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series before making any moves.
This match has not been presented to Goldberg or the Undertaker at this time, but this match is reportedly “on the table.” Meltzer also states that the Undertaker has given WWE a list of opponents he’d like to face. It’s not known at this time who is on that list. Also, Goldberg is expected to be headlining the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame class.
