VINCE MCMAHON TO RETURN TO WWE?
Vince McMahon will NEVER retire, as indicated by the latest news story coming out of The Wall Street Journal.
According to the report, McMahon has told people that he received bad advice when he stepped down as CEO of WWE and plans on making a return to the company. This is wild news, as many believed that McMahon had stepped away from WWE for good.
The belief from McMahon is that if he would have stayed, all of the allegations would have blown over and this would be a non-story. However, the story of McMahon’s ‘sexual misconduct’ allegations only continue to grow…
Sexual misconduct allegations against Vince McMahon continue to mount as The Wall Street Journal reports that former WWE referee Rita Chatterton has asked for over $11 MILLION dollars in damages. She alleges that McMahon “raped her inside of a limousine” on July 16, 1986.
Chatterton’s attorney sent a letter to McMahon’s attorney this past November, demanding that restitution be paid, citing years of depression as one of the reasons.
Here is a great article about Chatterton from NY Mag.
This story has been going around for MANY years, but has been largely ignored by the media. When she came forward about the assault in 1992, there wasn’t much that could be done at the time, as it was her word against McMahon’s. She didn’t report the assault in 1986 out of fear, and there was never a rape investigation in July 1986. It remains to be seen if McMahon will settle the $11.75 Million demand from Chattertonn.
Another attorney issued a letter to McMahon in November, alleging McMahon sexually assaulted a spa manager at a resort in California in 2011.
While the allegations and lawsuits against McMahon continue to pile up, Vince is reportedly scheming his WWE return, as if anyone didn’t see that coming.
Reports are starting to circulate that WWE does not want him back. Even if that is true, McMahon owns somewhere over 80% of WWE stock and he is the heavy majority shareholder. He is still Chairman of the Board and can pretty much do as he pleases.
If he wants to return to his role as CEO, Head of Creative and any other role that he may want, it will be difficult to stop him from doing so.
