WRESTLEMANIA 34 NEWS & NOTES
(SEE QUICK RESULTS BELOW)
WRESTLEMANIA has come to a stunning conclusion with Brock Lesnar defeating Roman Reigns to retain the WWE Universal Championship.
The majority believed that it was a forgone conclusion that Reigns would walk out of New Orleans as the new champion. He was supposed to start a program with Samoa Joe tomorrow night, they said. Now what does he do?
The beauty of WrestleMania is the start of a bunch of brand new storylines. And a number of those new storylines kicked off tonight. Shinsuke Nakamura turned heel in very unpredictable fashion; attacking AJ Styles post match & adding the much needed heat to their rivalry.
Oh, and Seth Rollins is now a GRAND SLAM CHAMPION! Congratulations to The Architect for achieving this huge accolade at WrestleMania!
Ronda Rousey not only looked completely stunning, but wrestled like she’s been doing it for years. She really showed how elite of an athlete she is. Very excited to see what her future holds.
Charlotte Flair achieved what basically every female athlete on the roster has failed to achieve: she beat Asuka. This is the result that seems to be getting a lot of heat for the IWC. I understand why Charlotte won, but I was very surprised it happened via tap-out in the middle of the ring.
Listen, a vocal majority of diehard wrestling fans were convinced that The Undertaker was finished after his apparent send-off at WrestleMania 33 last year. I knew he wasn’t finished. Undertaker went in for hip surgery a month after last year’s WrestleMania. He wouldn’t have done that if he didn’t plan on returning to the ring. End of story.
