Earlier today, WWE announced that the company has decided to cancel the December 8th, 2017 show at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, India. After cancelling the show, WWE also announced that the December 9th, 2017 show will now be branded as a “Supershow,” with both Raw and SmackDown LIVE talent set to perform.
According to The Times of India (a major newspaper/website in India), the cancellation was due to poor ticket sales for the first show, which led to WWE making the India tour now just a one day event. Some have speculated that was due to Triple H being announced for the December 9th show earlier this week, which led to WWE struggling to fill the December 8th show. The Game is set to face former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal in the main event of the now branded “Supershow.”
Fans who have booked their tickets for the December 8th show can exchange the tickets for Saturday’s WWE Supershow, or receive a full refund.
WWE has also cited that they have cancelled the show to give the fans in India the best show possible:
“To meet the requests of WWE fans in India, and deliver the biggest main event in the country’s history, WWE is combining two nights of family-friendly action into a one-night only, exclusive Supershow.”
